Well here you have El Centro de San Salvador!Un lugar donde hay mas bulla y vida que Time Square hahaha! To get to El Centro today we took un bus!Not the bus un bus!The public transportation here is crazy! You have to be super alert to get on your bus o si no te dejan! The bus is usually crowded with people. Sometimes poor people asking for money get on or musicians just trying to get some cents. The road is bumpy and the bus is hot but you get to your destination in no time! But be alert to get off too or else they won’t stop lol En El Centro encontras de todo!!Food, clothes, electronics, cd’s y peliculas piratas, you name it!you will find it!There are women con guakales en la cabeza vendiendo fruta!and music por todos lados!I heard a lot of reggeaton!Salvis like to get down!
Also en El Centro you will find “El Centro Historico,” where the Cathedral with the tomb of Monseñor Romero is at and El Palacio Nacional. The location of the tomb gave me a very eery feeling but at the same time one of peace. President Obama actually visited his tomb also, I was told that the whole Centro was shut down for his visit.
And finally we visited el Parque de la Libertad, where you can find people looking for work and musicians trying to make a living. We asked the musicians to play “La Puerta Negra” by Los Tigres del Norte!I danced with un compañero in the middle of the plaza!haha!people formed a circle around us!It was fun!lol Doing things I will always remember :)
